Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in the United States, and one of the clearest lakes in the world. Since the first Tahoe Summit in 1997, scientists have worked to understand the basin’s environmental dynamics and to preserve the lake’s beauty for generations to come.
Over 100 guests attend the yearly Tahoe Summit event and receive the report. Notable guests include Vice President Al Gore, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and California Governor Jerry Brown.
The annual Tahoe Summit Report showcases the work of researchers from the University of Nevada, Reno and the Desert Research Institute. Each year’s report is available at the UNR Tahoe Summit website.
